Weeping Willow 1 I spoke to the owner of the house, and as far as he knew only a basement window had been broken.

Weeping Willow 2 See how flat the bottom is? And how all of the roots go out to the side? See the next photo for the reason.

Weeping Willow 3 When the Weeping Willow was planted, it was planted on top of something buried in concrete. So the roots couldn't grow down, only out, leaving nothing to hold the tree in place in a wind storm like today's.

Cover Blown Even the car covers got trashed!

Garage shingles Winds were still 50+ MPH when I took these photos, which is why the shingles are standing up.

Next Door Neighbor 1 This is the house next to me. The tree fell in 3 sections - after the first section fell the owners of the blue house moved their cars into the garage to be safe.

Next Door Neighbor 2 I'ts a little easier to see the 3 sections in this photo. Ironically, the people who rent this house moved in because they liked the tree in the front yard so much...

Shingles in the Wind This was my best shot with shingles literally blowing off the top of a house. Black specks in the sky are shingles, not dirt on my camera.

Gray house shingles flying Most of the houses 2 blocks north of mine looked like this. Luckily I had my roof redone a couple years ago with nice, heavy architectural shingles so I lost none.

Forest Glen old tree It's hard to see, but look at the tree trunk going up into nothing, and the top of the tree on the ground.

Basketball Hoop in the Bushes Many, many baskeball hoops fell. This one was the only one to fall into a bush like this.

Fernwood bare roof Notice how the roof goes from shingles directly to wood? The builder of this subdivision didn't put tarpaper down like they were supposed to on about 50% of the homes. (Luckily my house has the tarpaper.)

Forest Glen fence Fences were down everywhere. I have a fence but got lucky.

Little tree misses the house This tree could have easily hit the house. Based on the direction of the wind, I'm surprised it didn't.

Rows of shingles Again, black specks in the sky are not dirt on my camera, they're shingles blowing off the tops of nearby houses.

Tree at the old Sears Hardware This is the only photo I had to drive to. The rest were all within walking distance of my home.
